We decided to kick off 2020 by donating to 20 local animal welfare charities that help Philadelphia’s homeless animals! The donations totaled $12,000 and will kickstart the year for these amazing organizations that rely on the generosity of their donors to continue their lifesaving work. Together these organizations saved over 700 animals in Philadelphia in 2019 and the 20th recipient, ACCT Philly, is the only open intake shelter in Philadelphia and took in over 16,000 animals in 2019.
It was so very exciting for us to be able to give back and we could not have done it without you!
The charities receiving donations were:
- Noah’s Ark Rescue Project and Sanctuary
- Harley’s Haven Dog Rescue
- Whiskers of Love Cat Rescue and Sanctuary
- Tiny Paws Rescue
- Philadelphia Urgent Rescue and Relief
- Sarama Rescue
- City of Elderly Love
- J and Co Rescue
- Kizzy’s Place
- Happy Tails Rescue Retirement Home

2019 was a great year! We tried some new things – a weekly dental surgery donation for community cats in need through Catadelphia, our first golf outing with our friends at The Mac Fund, and 2 dog friendly brunches at Nick’s Woodhaven. We also continued our work with ACCT Philly by holding 2 shelter clean up days and continually supporting the pet food pantry, we sponsored winter shelter building workshops for community cat, a ‘kitten shower’ to provide supplies to kitten foster parents, we marched in a couple parades, pub crawled, and the list goes on. We are also very proud to continue providing support by funding medical care for animals from various local rescues, ACCT Philly, and low-income pet owners.
As we enter 2020, we’d like to ask you all to consider what you may be able to do to help an animal in need this year. From adopting a rescue animal to sharing social media posts about urgent animals – every action helps! You can make donations to rescue groups, drop off pet food, gently used linens or other supplies at your local shelter, volunteer to cuddle a shelter cat or walk a dog! No act is too small, and we all have varying schedules and resources when it comes to what we can contribute. What can you do to contribute this year and help homeless animals?
Thank you to ALL OF YOU who help us keep going! Animal rescue is not for the faint of heart, but it is our calling and we will continue to be there for those who need us. Stay tuned for more great things to come in 2020 ♥
From our Philadoptables family to yours… Happy New Year!

Being invited to participate in The Preston and Steve Show’s Camp Out for Hunger 10 years ago was a game changer for Philly’s hungry animals. During the last 10 years we have been able to collect truckloads of pet food donations for the city’s pet food pantry- a service that keeps families together. We have helped thousands of animals with this collected food, helped numerous rescues and foster parents who have pulled shelter animals to safety. ‘Grateful’ does not even describe how we feel- thank you for this lifesaving opportunity.
Join us for a night of fun with friends and awesome raffles! A $10 donation gets you in & access to amazing raffles, drink specials and more- all proceeds go to helping Philly’s homeless animals! Always a great event!
