We are looking for businesses, offices, schools, and individuals to collect donated pet food for Camp Out for Hunger 2017.

Many people don’t know that Philadoptables stocks a pet food pantry for people who cannot feed their pets. Over 300 animals are helped monthly! In 2010 Philadoptables was approached to collect pet food at WMMR’s The Preston & Steve Show’s Camp out For Hunger. This drive has been a people-food drive since its inception but the guys were kind enough to see the effect the economy was having on animals and their families. Collected food goes to families in need, foster parents of Philly’s animal control shelter and rescue partners who pull animals from the Philly shelter and into their loving care.

This will be our EIGHTH year being part of this amazing event! Philadoptables’ preparation begins a few months in advance as we start identifying locations to place collection boxes – schools, offices, stores, everywhere we can think ok! Our volunteers are amazing and all collected food is brought to the BIG EVENT – November 27th through December 1st at Xfinity Live! Email us if you can help feed hungry animals!

Traditionally Preston and Steve have lived in an RV for a week while conducting live shows out of a giant tent. This week long event is super fun but more importantly – everyone there is donating people and pet food of those in need. As we ramp up for Camp Out 2017, we need your help more than ever! We are looking for folks to help collect donated pet food – we provided a letter of introduction and flyers here. Need posters and collection boxes? Let us know!!

WHY: Community cats need cozy homes to help keep them safe through winter

Join us Sunday, October 15th at ACCT Philly for a Cat Shelter Building Workshop sponsored by Philadoptables!

Participants will learn to construct simple, warm shelters for community cats in Philadelphia. All materials will be provided and the workshop is free to attend. If you want to take home the shelter you build, there is a $10 materials fee (scholarships available). This workshop is outdoors so please dress for the weather.

Thank you to all the amazing volunteers who showed up and helped out to make our 2017 Clean Up Day a huge success!

Outside we repaired play yard fencing and improved the runs with canopies, trash cans and swimming pools. We also refreshed the flower beds, cleared weeds and spruced up the grounds. Indoors we got to work on repairing Kuranda dog beds as well as bringing in some new ones so that all of our shelter friends have a nice place to sleep tonight.

Our June 3rd & 4th Kitten Showers at ACCT Philly were a huge success! We greeted new volunteers to the program and welcomed back foster parents from years past, sending home 48 kittens, 2 moms with babies and 2 adult cats in need of some TLC. We also hosted games and activities for the kids in attendance and provided snacks!

Philadoptables and M&T Bank sponsored kits full of supplies for new foster parents including food, litter, heating pads, carriers and more.
