Our friends at Rags 2 Riches Rescue work with the local police department when strays are found. (the area has no animal control facility!). Bubba aka Stray Pup, has finished his stray hold but no owner stepped forward. The kind folks at Rags to Riches are going to find him a foster home so they can get to know him better. We donated the necessary funds for his neuter surgery. Best wishes to this hunka hunka! <3
Clipper Donation for Forgotten Cats
Sweet kitties like this one often arrive at Forgotten Cats with injuries. Fur needs to be shaved to clearly see and treat the injuries. We heard that their vet clippers are in need of replacing so we donated 2 new pairs! They are an awesome organization and we were happy to help.
Gata Unbound
Our animal advocate friends Lucy and Susan have been busy! They have started a publishing company and recently released their first book in the book series called Gata Unbound! This book series is a magical journey of outdoor kitties, also known as community cats, and explores their adventures and the world of TNR (trap, neuter, release).
In honor of that book release, Philadoptables was selected to be the recipient of a $1,000 TNR grant from Archimedes Print Shoppe and a $1,000 grant from Clare & Steve Morrison at Macs Fund. Philadoptables is also matching a $1,000 donation as well in order to get more community cats spayed and neutered through our partnership with Forgotten Cats.

Nayla
On June 14th One Love Animal Rescue was the recipient of a $500 grant for us for Nayla’s surgery. Nayla is a beautiful senior dachshund that was pulled from ACCT Philadelphia in April. She has been suffering from oronasal fistulas and has already had two surgeries to correct them. Unfortunately, they didn’t heal properly and she is now facing a third, more extensive surgery at the cost of between $3400 and $4000. One Love’s goal was for Nayla to live a normal, healthy life.
6/27/20 Update from the Rescue: Nayla is healing nicely after her oral surgery and got a positive checkup from her surgeon! She will make a full recovery and be able to eat, drink and enjoy her life without any complications. So happy!
Let’s Help Rescues this Kitten Season!
Kitten season is in full swing! 2020 is an unprecedented year due to COVID-19 but that does not stop homeless kittens from being born. Due to the circumstances, the Philly shelter has been operated on emergency only intake and as a result Philly area rescues have stepped up in a big way to assist mom cats and kittens who are on the streets. We reached out to help these rescues and sent kitten supplies of KMR, kitten food, bottles and snuggle discs to many of them to assist during this time! The rescues assisted were Stray Cat Blues, NARPS Cats, Providence Animal Center, PURR, Catnip Rescue, Lucky Dawg Rescue and Lucky You Animal Rescue.
