Olivia

Our Vice President Diana was reading about this poor sweet dog named Olivia. She was previously adopted from ACCT and just came back in this condition ? She had trouble walking, very squinty and uncomfortable eyes, and a very large abdominal area. Despite all of this, she was extremely sweet and gently took a tiny bit of chicken nuggets from a volunteer’s hand. We immediately offered $250 toward her medical care to a rescue who could take her from ACCT. Helping Hearts & Healing Tails Animal Rescue picked up Olivia and took her to the vet immediately.

Update from her rescue 3/19/20
She has thyroid disease and Cushings disease. She goes back to the vet for more testing to determine which type of Cushings she has. Hopefully once these tests come back and once the meds gets started, we can finally get her feeling a lot better! Best wishes, Olivia!

Animal Crackers

Second Chance Rescue pulled a sweet sick pup from ACCT Philly info foster care so he could get the care he needed for his upper respiratory infection. Turns out Animal Crackers was very sick and stayed at Penn Vet for several days. We donated $300 toward his medical care. Here is a photo of him getting oxygen at the animal hospital and a photo of him three weeks later- fully recovered!

We donated $12,000 to local animal welfare groups for our #20for2020 campaign!

We decided to kick off 2020 by donating to 20 local animal welfare charities that help Philadelphia’s homeless animals! The donations totaled $12,000 and will kickstart the year for these amazing organizations that rely on the generosity of their donors to continue their lifesaving work. Together these organizations saved over 700 animals in Philadelphia in 2019 and the 20th recipient, ACCT Philly, is the only open intake shelter in Philadelphia and took in over 16,000 animals in 2019.

It was so very exciting for us to be able to give back and we could not have done it without you!

The charities receiving donations were:

  • Noah’s Ark Rescue Project and Sanctuary
  • Harley’s Haven Dog Rescue
  • Whiskers of Love Cat Rescue and Sanctuary
  • Tiny Paws Rescue
  • Philadelphia Urgent Rescue and Relief
  • Sarama Rescue

Camp Out for Hunger 2019 Recap & Photos

Being invited to participate in The Preston and Steve Show’s Camp Out for Hunger 10 years ago was a game changer for Philly’s hungry animals. During the last 10 years we have been able to collect truckloads of pet food donations for the city’s pet food pantry- a service that keeps families together. We have helped thousands of animals with this collected food, helped numerous rescues and foster parents who have pulled shelter animals to safety. ‘Grateful’ does not even describe how we feel- thank you for this lifesaving opportunity.
