Thanks to our Fabulous Friends for Helping Raise Funds for the Dog Play Yard

We get by with a little help from our friends and we give Thanks where it is due! We could not have met our goal for the new Play Yard without the support of local businesses and our supporters! Please support these businesses and thank them for supporting Philadoptables and Philly’s homeless animals. The following businesses participated in helping turn a dream into a reality:

A Big Thank you to NATURAL BALANCE !!!!

Thank you once again to our great friends at Natural Balance for their HUGE donation!

Over 9,000 pounds of delish high quality Alpha cat and dog food will prevent animals from entering an already overcrowded and underfunded shelter system.  The food is also feeding foster dogs and cats currently living with families who could normally not afford to foster the animals.

Natural Balance’s ongoing commitment to helping Philadelphia’s homeless animals is sincerely appreciated.  THANK YOU!!!

Dog Play Area

Philadoptables is working to build a play yard for the dogs of Philadelphia’s overcrowded city shelter. This new play yard is an important project, as it will help provide a place for the dogs to blow off steam and to meet potential new families!  Plans for this new yard include a 22×48 completely fenced in area with feature upgrades including a wooden pavilion, making it usable in all kinds of weather, and benches. Another important feature will be the artificial self- draining turf, which allows for disease control and prevention.

Finished Project – What the Dog Play Yard will look like

The most important benefit of all is the opportunities for play and socialization this new yard will provide. Living in a shelter is stressful for dogs, who are social creatures by nature and crave interaction with humans and other dogs. Play allows dogs to get their wiggles and zoomies out and keep them adoptable longer! Dogs who have had the chance to play make a better presentation in their kennels, which increases their chances for adoption.

We want to add to a large donation from Wish Upon A Hero and we need your help in the form of donations! Please help us pull down the barbed wire and make this urban puppy paradise a reality!
