Maria is a young adult cat who recently ended up at ACCT as a stray. Maria came in with four older kittens presumed to be her babies but they were old enough to be weaned for their fur-ever homes. We were hopeful for her journey at a second chance and offered to sponsor part of her medical care for anyone interested in rescuing her. Our friends at Out of the Woods rescue came to Maria’s rescue and welcomed her into their care! Maria is the sweetest girl who loves head scratches and is looking for a loving home where she can relax and be loved. |
Momma Cat and Kittens Saved by PAWS
Thanks for saving Queen Lateefers, Flossy Flossy, and Grillz, PAWS!
An update from PAWS “When this sweet young cat (Queen Lateefers) arrived at the city shelter, it was clear she needed help. Surrendered with three newborn kittens (Flossy Flossy and Grillz) whose health was failing, Queen also had a hole in the roof of her mouth due to a cleft palate, which could cause food to travel into her nasal cavity or lungs if left uncorrected.
After being scooped up by PAWS, this sweet three-year-old has been in a loving foster home for the last month while her kittens nursed and weaned. Now that her kittens are old enough, we can determine if her cleft palate can be repaired! She has a consult with a veterinarian at VSEC on July 5th and we’re optimistic that we’ll be able to move forward with surgery.
This generous funding from Philadoptables will be an incredible help in offsetting the cost of this extensive procedure.”
Turnip Gets a Second Chance Thanks to Tiny Paws Rescue
Sweet Turnip arrived as a stray at ACCT, after being found roaming alone with a large infected mass on her back end. She was rushed to the exam room and because of her critical condition, she was eligible for early release from her stray hold.
When our friends at Tiny Paws Rescue stepped up to save her, we happily donated $300 towards her medical care. Thanks to TPR, Turnip has a second chance at life…and love!
Rocco the Rottie Saved Just in Time
Our friends at Kodi’s Club sprung into quick action to save dog that was found suffering from heat stroke.
“A Rottie was just found laying in lateral recumbency at a city park and having a heat stroke. ACO was called. He’s in bad shape. Temp was 106, now just under 107. Finding an ER was not easy. Mt Laurel thankfully is taking him. Pray he makes it. They’re calling him Rocco. Danielle is racing him there now. ” Kodi’s Club Facebook
After a few days of round-the-clock care, Rocco finally stood up! He has been transferred to a veterinary hospital close to Kodi’s Club volunteers for additional love and care.
Kodi’s Club saved Rocco and we are proud to donate towards his lifesaving care. Our paws are crossed that Rocco feels better soon!
Helping Improve The Quality of Life for Outside Dogs One Sun Shade At a Time
We love helping our community rescue partners! An update from our friends at Side Paws below.
“Improving the quality of life for outside dogs takes time, persistence, patience, and resources. We dramatically improved these dogs lives and there’s still more we want to do. There are also so many others that need our help.
Without volunteers and financial support, we can’t continue to make a difference for dogs that live outside in Philly. We need your help.
Special thanks to Philadoptables and individual donors for the sunshades!”
