Love & Support For A Little Pup With A Broken Jaw

When we saw Sassy’s intake picture at ACCT Philly our hearts broke. She has a broken jaw and now we know she has other medical issues as well. We donated $400 to the rescue who pulled her into their care- DELCO DAWGS. As you can see below she is getting the care she needs but it is expensive.

If you have a few dollars Delco Dawgs can use your donations. ❤

Call VRC to donate 610.647.2950 or Venmo: @jill-speckman or Paypal: [email protected]

Update from Delco Paws: “SASSY UPDATE…2 broken jaws/mandibles, a possible fracture or herniated disc in vertebrae from an old injury. Loss of fur, skin allergy, a mouth full of rotten teeth all needing to be pulled when jaw surgery is done on Wednesday. She may lose the jaw completely if splinting cannot be done, the bone is so deteriorated. Her feeding tube is in, her feedings are being done thru the tube along with fluids while a tape muzzle holds her jaws together and mouth closed. This all needs to be addressed before the mammory masses. Mammary masses the doctor thinks are all associated with one gland on the right and are small. If that size, it is usually okay to just remove the affected gland and not do a whole chain mastectomy, which would be great news. 50% chance benign/malignant, but good news chest rads are clear so no mestastisis. It is recommended focusing on the jaw for now and once that has healed we can consider mass removal and spay in the future.

This little dog mustve experienced a great deal of pain and possible neglect. We owe $15,000 alone for IVORY along with thousands more. These local dogs would die without us. SASSY will be thousands and hospitalized at least 7 days. We need a foster for her when she is released end of next week and we need donations NOW, pls! Enter our raffle for the July getaway! Call VRC to donate 610.647.2950 or Venmo: @jill-speckman or Paypal: [email protected]

We are one of the only rescues taking in these abused, injured, ill, neglected dogs. Theyre dying, being euthanized, suffering and local. We cant so no, but we are drowing in debt we need donations please to get caught up and save more. Its heartbreaking. Heres where your money goes…”

Supporting Our Community During Kitten Season

The term “kitten season” may sound like a magical season filled with cute and cuddly baby felines. While baby cats are unbelievably cute, thousands of them can enter shelters within weeks, making kitten season the most challenging time of the year in rescues and shelters nationwide.

Here in Philly, since we experienced a warmer winter than usual, kitten season began early and animal welfare warriors felt the pressure sooner than expected.

With a warmer season and influx of new kittens, local resources were sparse and organizations had to provide even more care than usual.

We remain dedicated to supporting cats and kittens in our community and through kitten season outreach, we’re pleased to provide over $8,000+ to local organizations! To help our local rescue friends provide life-saving and critical care to breeding cats and kittens in need, we set out to support as many organizations as possible.

Thank you to our rescue friends listed below for their service and dedication to kitten season and our cat friends who need us most.

  • Community Cat Club
  • Lucky You Animal Rescue
  • Calla’s Critter Rescue
  • Feline Urban Rescue and Rehab
  • Foxy’s Cradle
  • Cat Tales, Inc.
  • Second Chances Rescue
  • Lucky Dawg Animal Rescue
  • Charlie’s Army Animal Rescue
  • Voorhees Animal Orphanage
  • Cheshire Cat Rescue & Sanctuary
  • PALS
  • PURR/TCC
  • Kitkat Playroom
  • Randall’s Rescue

Interested in helping cats and kittens? You can help too! Donations and foster parents are needed now more than ever. By opening your heart and home up to a kitten (or a litter and maybe mama!) you not only save fragile lives, you also free up valuable resources in the sheltering community.

Community Cat Gets Lifesaving Care for Injured Paw

When Community Cat, Ashtar, found himself with an injured paw, a good Samaritan and cat lover reached out to Philadoptables for help!

One evening, Ashtar showed up for his nightly outdoor meal when his caregiver noticed he could hardly walk and had a severely swollen paw.
Concerned for his well-being, his caregivers immediately contacted us for help with his injury.

Here at Philadoptables, we love Community Cats and their well-being, especially this winter, is so important to us! We offered to cover Ashtar’s medical care and neuter surgery.

Thank you to his caregivers for going the extra mile to find help and care for him. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of Community Cats.

Love and Support for 14-year-old Justine and His Best Friend

It has been a busy here with requests for medical help for owned and unowned pets.

Pup Justice and his owner live in their car and have been befriended by two wonderful community cat feeders in Bucks County, Joy and Carol! They make sure both men have what they need to eat. 14 year old Justice was severely in need of medical care- he was not eating, has belly issues and has red swollen eyes.

Our friend Carol was able to get him an appointment at the vet today. Justice was able to get medical tests and much needed medicine.

We were able to cover his vet bill thanks to your support!
