2021 Pet Food Collection Drive Feeds Hundreds of Animals in Our Communities!

‘Tis the season for giving! For 13 years Philadoptables has helped feed hungry cats and dogs in the Delaware Valley and like always, we couldn’t do it without our generous supporters.

Last week, we donated all of our collected food to benefit two events and multiple communities. Thank you to everyone that contributed and assisted with our pet food collection drive!

Hundreds of animals will have full bellies this holiday season thanks to you!

During one of the events, 100+ families were served at a cohosted community pet food pantry with PAWS (Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society), Philadelphia Auto And Parole, and Citizens for a No-Kill Philadelphia!

Happy Holidays! #noemptybowls

Winter Community Cat Shelter Giveaway with Stray Cat Relief Fund – 100 shelters made!

Keeping the community kitties warm this winter!

We sponsored a community cat shelter giveaway in partnership with Stray Cat Relief Fund!

100 shelters were made and distributed to community caretakers in need for their TNR kitties! You can make a shelter too! YouTube videos show you step by step how to make them! Instructions are shown in the photos above or search for “outdoor cat houses” on the web.

Cant make a TNR cat house but want to help?

Philadoptables is committed to helping community cats in the Philadelphia area. Through this commitment, we have sponsored many TNR surgeries.

TNR stands for Trap, Neuter, Return. Community cats are cared for by feeders who are residents of the community but with over 400,000 stray cats in Philadelphia, it is important that these cats are spayed and neutered. Once a community cat is spayed or neutered, they will have an ear tip that shows this so if they are trapped again, it is already known that they are fixed.

By assisting with funding for these surgeries, Philadoptables is supporting our mission of helping to reduce the number of cats and kittens being brought into the city’s open intake shelter, ACCT Philly.

Better Together – New Scale for Phoenix Animal Rescue!

When our friends at Phoenix Animal Rescue told us that their scale broke, Philadoptables knew we had to help!

Phoenix Animal Rescue has saved so many animals from the city shelter this year. The scale is very important to their lifesaving work as having an accurate weight on an animal is critical to making sure they receive the proper dosage of medication.

Adorable Max is modeling the new scale!

Shelter Volunteer Day!

What started as a very determined young man who grabbed his landscape nippers and took off in pursuit of a wild butterfly bush blocking the sidewalk turned into our shelter clean up!

Our volunteers built 37 dog beds and took them into the kennels so our dog friends will sleep comfortably. Countless loads of laundry were done and the laundry room was deep cleaned. Dishes were cleaned, trash was bagged, sail shades were hung in the outside runs, and that’s just the beginning of the work that was completed. Some dedicated folks cleaned out the community cat area, freshened up the bedding, and countless pallets were dragged to the front of the property where they are available for pick up. We fixed things and cleaned things, made and gave out yummy treats, and tried to make the shelter a more safe and comfortable place for the animals, the volunteers, and the staff.

Thank you to this huge amazing group of people who showed up to help out today!
